I am my own favorite author. You must embrace what’s in you before admiring others. 
I can remember when I started writing my first book about my life story. It’s amazing when u write, write, write and you haven’t went back and read what you produced.
When I finally read my own story it blew my mind. All I could think was , “wow I wrote this”. It’s amazing how we have no idea what’s really on the inside of us until we make a step forward in accomplishing that goal. Your story will always bless you first before anyone else.
Our stories were created to give us the push we need to make it through life’s greatest challenges. We want others to read our stories but it starts with you embracing your story first.

When you write your books there should definitely be a purpose in mind. 
What’s your why? What message are you releasing to the world? Who are you speaking to?
We must wasting time and be strategic in everything we do when we write. As an author you must look at publishing your book as introducing who you are to the world. Realize announcing your story and your message does take work. If your are not willing to do the work then don’t publish. Publishing requires and investment of not only your money but also your time. We should not be creating things that hold such heavy weight like books and allowing the results to just fall by the waists side. Your book is a brand or as Lisa Nichols once said “Your Book is an expensive business card.” This is a very strong statement but very true.
Ask yourself some important questions I listed above before you publish your book. Be clear on your purpose in writing and exposing to the world. The publishing game has changed tremendously over the years, we have too many resources to play games with our writings.
Take some time and figure out your why.

What are you writing? Are you writing what’s popular or are you writing what truly matters to you. When you write what truly matters to you it speaks volumes about what your passions are. This one nugget is what gives your writing purpose and life.
No one wants to read something you wrote that you have absolutely no interest in. I enjoy writing about books and publishing. I give authors branding tips, things they need to know when introducing their books to the world. Make sure you are writing whats important to you.
Your target audience will draw to you when you give them what they need and want you to read. Apply this nugget and watch your platform grow as a writer.
